Cutting Ball Theater Season Opens With PELLEAS & MELISANDE, 10/21

San Francisco's cutting-edge Cutting Ball Theater opens its 12th season with French symbolist Maurice Maeterlinck's PELLEAS & MELISANDE, in a new translation by Cutting Ball Artistic Director Rob Melrose. Directed by Melrose, with a musical score by composer Cliff Caruthers, video installation by Wesley Cabral, and choreography by Laura Arrington, PELLEAS & MELISANDE features Joshua Schell, Catilyn Louchard, Derek Fischer, Paul Gerrior, and Gwyneth Richards, along with Bennett Fisher, Jessica Rudholm, Carla Pauli, and Brittany Kilcoyne McGregor. PELLEAS & MELISANDE plays October 21-November 27 (Press opening: October 27) at the Cutting Ball Theater in residence at EXIT on Taylor (277 Taylor Street) in San Francisco. With the announcement of the Denver Center Theatre Company's 2009/10 Season, Artistic Director Kent Thompson continues his company's mission of new play development by selecting three world premieres - including two Denver Center commissions - while sending a resounding message to Colorado and the nation that uncertain economic times call for new and classic plays that hold a special relevance for us. Remy Bumppo Theatre Company presents the Chicago premiere of David Mamet's sleek adaptation of The Voysey Inheritance by Harley Granville-Barker, running Sept. 18 through Nov. 2 in the Upstairs Mainstage of the Greenhouse Theater, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. Preview performances begin Thursday, Sept. 18 with opening night Sunday, Sept. 21 at 7:00 pm. The Voysey Inheritance is directed by Remy Bumppo Artistic Director James Bohnen, and features Artistic Associate David Darlow and guest artist Raymond Fox.

'Revelation Readings' Returns to Red Bull Theatre

Red Bull Theater announces their fall season with the return of 'Revelation Readings,' an Obie Award-Winning reading series exploring new and classic plays of heightened language, a major new revival of Christopher Marlowe's Edward the Second, a new play workshop called In The Raw, and a second full production to be announced later this season.
