Following its hit production of MACHINAL, Greenhouse Theater Center is pleased to continue its 2017-18 season with the return of best-selling author Laurence Leamer's critically acclaimed drama ROSE. After a sold-out run during last season's Solo Celebration! Series, celebrated Chicago actress Linda Reiter reprises her Joseph Jefferson nominated performance as matriarch Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy in this intimate piece directed by Steve Scott. ROSE will play January 12 March 11, 2018 at the Greenhouse Theater Center (Downstairs Main Stage), 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. If you miss (theater at) Arts Garage, we're back! We're back with a vengeance says Primal Forces producer Keith Garsson. Garsson established a reputation for bringing provocative, little known plays to Arts Garage in Delray Beach for a season and a half, before the theatre program was abruptly terminated by incoming, fledgling CEO Marjorie Waldo. Though he may have initially felt disappointed that he was not given enough time to establish his brand and develop a following at Arts Garage, Garsson simply regrouped and brought his vision and his company, Primal Forces, to Ft. Lauderdale.
'The themes in this play, as in all in the Cycle, are universal. Unfortunately some of those themes and challenges are still relevant today. It is imperative that as a cast we explore and examine these themes before we even begin to tackle the language. Fortunately enough August Wilson's language succinct and inspiring. His characters are so clearly and powerfully structured that the journey for a cast to 'know' and 'find' these people. They are richly drawn,' Hemphill concluded.

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) announces its complete 2017-2018 season, Dreamscapes, under the leadership of Artistic Director Derek Bermel, Music Director George Manahan, and President Edward Yim, featuring ten world, U.S., and New York premieres by a diverse set of composers. ACO continues its concerts at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall (December 8, 2017 and April 6, 2018) while expanding its presence in New York to include performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center (November 7, 2017) and as part of the 2018 PROTOTYPE Festival (January 12-14, 2018).
