Giovedi 2 aprile e finalmente uscito in Italia il film 'INTO THE WOODS'. Dopo anni di attesa (la produzione del film e stata annunciata nel 2012), resa ancor piu insostenibile dallo spostamento della data d'uscita dal 25 dicembre (come negli Stati Uniti) al 2 aprile, anche noi poveri e sconsolati italiani possiamo godere di questo spettacolo. Per chi ancora non lo sapesse, 'Into The Woods' e un musical di Stephen Sondheim (musiche e testi) e James Lapine (libretto), che ha debuttato a San Diego nel 1986, per poi aprire a Broadway l'anno successivo. Vincitore complessivamente di 5 Tony Awards (tra il cast originale e il revival), 8 Drama Desks e, per le produzioni inglesi, 4 Olivier Awards, il musical s'ispira ai personaggi delle fiabe, tra cui Cappuccetto Rosso, Raperonzolo, Cenerentola e Jack (di Jack e il fagiolo magico). Le strade dei vari personaggi che animano questo mondo fiabesco s'intrecciano all'interno del bosco, simbolo della vita stessa, dove ognuno insegue il proprio desiderio.

Dayton's premier professional regional theatre company, The Human Race Theatre Company, announces the lineup of productions and add-ons for its 29th season, filled with titles and authors that are familiar to theatre lovers and general audiences alike. The season begins in September 2015.

Tony Maudsley to Don House Slippers in UK's HAIRSPRAY Tour; Full Casting Announced

Tony Maudsley (ITV1's Benidorm) will play Edna Turnblad in the major 40-week UK tour of Hairspray which will open at Curve theatre in Leicester this autumn. He will be joined by TV and stage actress and presenter Claire Sweeney (Educating Rita, Guys and Dolls) as Velma Von Tussle, Olivier Award nominated actor and much-loved Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan (BBC1 Tumble) as Wilbur Turnblad and British singer and West End performer Brenda Edwards (Chicago, We Will Rock You, The X Factor) as Motormouth Maybelle. Freya Sutton will reprise the role of Tracy Turnblad alongside established musical theatre performer Jon Tsouras (A Chorus Line) who will play the role of Corny Collins. Dex Lee (The Scottsboro Boys) will play Seaweed, Ashley Gilmour (Miss Saigon) will play Link Larkin, Lauren Stroud (Wicked) will play Amber, Monique Young (Top Hat) will play Penny, Karis Jack (Urinetown) will play Little Inez, Adam Price (Hairspray) will play Male Authority Figure, Tracey Penn (Made in Dagenham) will play Female Authority Figure and Layton Williams (Bad Education, Billy Elliot) will play Duane. Further casting will be announced in due course.

The young photographer wonders why his parents even stay together while he and his husband, Malcolm, deal with their own issues as newlyweds. Intimate, yet universal, Family Shots is a wildly funny and touching comedy about marriage -- its joys, challenges and responsibilities -- and what's worth fighting for. American opera singer Janis Martin, best known for stretching her range from a mezzo-soprano to a soprano star, has died. Having suffered from diabetes for years, she passed away at home in San Antonio on Dec. 14, her son Robert confirmed. She was 75.
