Northern Stage, the region's professional theater, will end its run of a brand new musical adaptation of the beloved Newbery Honor book Mr. Popper's Penguins, by Richard and Florence Atwater. The book was adapted for the stage by Jody Davidson, who also wrote the lyrics; the music is by Brett Schrier on May 23rd.

The book signing will take place in the lobby of the H&R Block City Stage located on level B in Union Station at 30 W. Pershing Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64108. The Drama Desk and Obie Award-wining Mint Theater Company today announced the cast for their third play of the 2009-2010 season, a rare revival of Dr. Knock, Or The Triumph Of Medicine, Jules Romains' prescient 1923 satire. Gus Kaikkonen, who helmed Mint's acclaimed production The Madras House (2007), will direct, using his own translation and featuring a cast that includes Scott Barrow (33 Variations, Embraceable Me), Thomas M.
