The show opens tonight, July 12, 2013 at Hanover Tavern, 13181 Hanover Courthouse Road, and runs through August 25, coinciding with the official anniversary on August 1. Sixty years ago in 1953, six actors, two children, a dog and two pigs moved into a historic ruin called Hanover Tavern. The transplanted New Yorkers founded Central Virginia's first professional theatre and named the company in memory of a deceased college friend, Barbara Barksdale.

According to a casting notcice, Edward Hibbert and Wesley Taylor have signed on to star in an upcoming off-Broadway revival of Sidney Howard's 1926 play THE SILVER CORD at The Peccadillo Theater Company. A staged reading for the show was held in January featuring Tayor alongside Charles Busch Dan Wackerman, Jessie Austrian, Molly Camp, and Robert Eli. The production will run May 15 through June 23.

For the April 5 opener, the Lorge Lineup features Richard Skipper, her former Award-winning Co-host from the Iguana days; film and stage actor Jim Brochu (of Zero Mostel One-Man Show fame), singers LaTanya Hall (from the CBS show 'Blue Bloods) and Peggy Herman Klat, Rick Crom (Creator of Newsical the Musical), and Mr. Furshpan, who will show off his stand-up comedy chops. The Eccles Center is poised to launch an adventure in entertainment with a second - and new - installation of The Intergalactic Nemesis. For the uninitiated, this unique, "live-action graphic novel" blends comic book-style drawings (projected onto a giant screen), actors performing radio drama on stage, music, kapow-like sound effects and utter escapism. Book Two: Robot Planet Rising takes audiences into stellar and unchartered terrain on Saturday, February 16. Show is recommended for all ages (including children ages 7 and older).
