Chance Theater presents the fifth show of its 15th Anniversary Season - a family-friendly holiday offering The Secret Garden - The Musical with book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Marsha Norman, music by Tony Award nominee Lucy Simon, and directed by Casey Long and KC Wilkerson. The Secret Garden - The Musical opened on November 30 and continues through December 29 at Chance Theater. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Pop-Up Piano Miami (PUPM) and The Related Group's 3-day concert series wrapped Saturday evening, as a trendy crowd rocked out to performances by Rami Jaffee (of the Foo Fighters), Jessy Greene (who has performed with Pink and the Foo Fighters), Dave Krusen (former drummer for Pearl Jam), Jason Abraham Roberts (guitarist for Norah Jones), Jonny Kaplan (singer of Jonny Kaplan and The Lazy Stars), and Jokin Salaverria (bassist of Jonny Kaplan and The Lazy Stars). Setting the energetic tone for the night was Miami-based singer-songwriter Cris Cab, who opened up the Celebrity Jam Session.

Bette Midler and Sue Mengers. Two iconic Hollywood female personalities of the last fifty years. Midler scored with her first movie The Rose in 1979, after many successful years in New York, on and off-Broadway. She was and has remained an iconic performer for the Gay community, and with strong choices, hard work and perseverance has become a super star in every medium she has played from New York to LA to Las Vegas. Super agent Mengers came to Los Angeles from New York with a German background and from a poor family and worked her way to the top as one of the strongest, gutsiest, hard-working and caring agents Hollywood has ever seen. So, the two ladies have a lot in common; Midler certainly fits the bill to play Sue Mengers in John Logan's one-person play I'll Eat You Last: A Chat with Sue Mengers, now at the Geffen through December 22 only.

Those who come to the St. Luke's Theatre today, November 29th with 2 canned goods will be eligible to purchase $25 tickets to that afternoon's special matinee performance at 1:30 PM. All collected canned goods will be donated to charity. If you haven't heard, Dad's Garage is moving! The property its building sits on at 280 Elizabeth Street has been purchased and is being redeveloped into a mixed-use space (which might include a few fro-yo joints if you're lucky). But don't worry, Dad's Garage is not closing -- the team will be performing at a temporary home at 7 Stages in Little Five Points beginning on August 10th. But you know Dad's Garage's loveable scamps - they're going to do it up right before they move. In addition to the regular shows, Dad's Garage will be hosting some killer events at our Inman Park space including a garage sale, a farewell improv show, and a giant party!

Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), the leading global music rights organization that represents more than 600,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers in all genres of music and more than 7.5 million works, is partnering with New York real estate company Silverstein Properties, Inc. to host the 3rd annual concert series of free summer music performances in the park in front of Silverstein Properties' 7 World Trade Center (located at 250 Greenwich St.) in downtown Manhattan. The music festival, known as '7@7' is taking place on seven Fridays from July 12th through August 23rd, at 12:00 p.m. with an eclectic lineup of talented performers taking to the BMI stage.

The Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF) at Shepherd University has announced the five-play repertory for its 23rd season of producing and developing new American theater. The four-week festival, consisting of 94 performances and other programming, will be held July 5 - 28 on the Shepherd University campus in Shepherdstown, WV.

The accomplished R&B and jazz vocalist breaks new ground of her own with her first Spanish-language album, “Natalie Cole En Español,” released June 25 on Verve/Universal.
