Full Cast Announced for THE NORMAL HEART Tour!

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater produces the 2011 Tony Award-winning production of Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart, directed by George C. Wolfe. Wolfe, who directed the show's sold-out Broadway engagement last season, mounts the professional D.C.-area premiere of this production, which features returning Broadway cast members Patrick Breen and Luke MacFarlane, among others. Presented by special arrangement with Daryl Roth, The Normal Heart runs June 8-July 29, 2012 in the Kreeger Theater.

Following sell-out seasons in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra, Big hART's multi-sensory theatrical production, Namatjira premieres in Adelaide from 4 to 12 May at Her Majesty's Theatre. The portrayal of the extraordinary life of Aboriginal artist, Albert Namatjira will be complemented by an exhibition featuring watercolour paintings by Albert Namatjira's descendants from the Ngurratjuta Many Hands Arts Centre at Adelaide Festival Centre's Artspace Gallery.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust presents An Evening with Yanni on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at 8:00 p.m., at the Benedum Center. This concert is part of the Cohen & Grigsby Trust Presents series. In 2012, Yanni brings his tour to North America, followed by a South American tour in the fall, and a multi-city tour of China in 2013. The concert will feature Yanni and his world-class musicians and vocalists performing many selections from his extensive music career.

BASE Entertainment has just announced that DINER, a new musical based on the critically acclaimed 1982 film with a book by Academy Award winner and original DINER screenwriter Barry Levinson and music & lyrics by 9-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow, will have its pre-Broadway world premiere at San Francisco's SHN Curran Theatre (445 Geary Street). Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall, DINER will play a strictly limited four week engagement from Tuesday, October 23, 2012, through Sunday, November 18, 2012, with an opening night of Friday, November 2, 2012. Due to these confirmed San Francisco dates DINER will now bow on Broadway in the spring of 2013, instead of the fall of 2012 as previously announced. Design team and casting will be announced at a later date.

2012 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awardees Announced

Two-time Tony Award nominated costume designer Carrie Robbins, and scenic, lighting, costume designer and educator Lloyd Burlingame are among the 2012 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, May 4, at 6:30pm, at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Ms. Robbins was selected to receive the 2012 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Mr. Burlingame will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design.

Topher Grace & Olivia Thirlby to Lead LONELY, I'M NOT at Second Stage

TOPHER GRACE and OLIVIA THIRLBY will co-star in Second Stage Theatre's production of Paul Weitz's world premiere comedy, LONELY, I'M NOT, directed by Trip Cullman. Join the Fulcrum Point New Music Project, dancer Idy Ciss, saxophonist Jim Gailloreto, Morikeba Kouyate on the kora, and students from the Fulcrum Point Sound Tracks program as they explore the rich rhythms, sounds and images of West Africa in this 75-minute multimedia performance. Children of all ages are invited to participate in drumming circles, traditional African dances, and soulful songs in this spirited performance which features works by Fela Kuti, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Steve Reich, and traditional music from Mandingo and African-American cultures.
