Music Director Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic in Mahler's Symphony No. 4, with soprano Ying Fang as soloist, at the Annual Free Memorial Day Concert, Monday, May 29, 2017, at 8:00 p.m. at The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine. This will be the 26th Annual Free Memorial Day Concert offered by the New York Philharmonic, a tradition begun in 1992 as a gift to the people of New York City.

The Ruth Page Center for the Arts is proud to announce programming for Chicago's upcoming April Dance Month. CDI/Concert Dance Inc. continues sharing its piece, “The Chicago Project,” Sunday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. This work in progress makes its official debut this summer at Ravinia Festival. Also programmed at the venue in honor of this month-long citywide celebration of dance is be Hedwig Dance, April 21, 22, 28 and 29,and DanceWorks Chicago, April 23. These two companies join CDI/Concert Dance Inc. as Artists In-Residence at The Ruth Page Center for the Arts. Performances take place at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) Artistic Director Terrence Mann and Executive Producer Matthew J. Pugliese are pleased to announce the lineup for the 2017 Nutmeg Summer Series. The first season under the artistic leadership of Mann will include '1776', 'Noises Off' and 'Disney's Newsies'. The Nutmeg Summer Series will run June 1 through July 16. Subscriptions are now on sale for 2017.

Christopher Gattelli, the Tony-winning choreographer, is practically jumping with joy over the success of ''Disney's Newsies: The Broadway Musical!'' and its giant leap to the big screen. Its three-day screenings (Feb. 16, 18 and 22) broke records to become the highest-grossing Broadway event from Fathom Events. And now ''Disney's Newsies'' will return for an encore showing on Saturday, March 4, at 12:55 p.m.

Smuin concludes its 23rd season with Dance Series 02, featuring a world premiere by internationally acclaimed choreographer Trey McIntyre entitled The Chicken Sees. McIntyre returns to Smuin to pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of the "Summer of Love" in an energetic exploration of dance and the creative process. The program also includes an exciting new addition by Smuin dancer Nicole Haskins. Rounding out the bill is Choreographer-in-Residence Amy Seiwert's critically lauded Broken Open.

Audiences have a final chance to 'Seize the Day!' - tickets are now available for Disney's Newsies: The Broadway Musical!, playing in U.S. movie theaters for three days only on Thursday, February 16 at 7:00 p.m., Saturday February 18 at 12:55 p.m. and Wednesday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m. (all local times). Leah retreats to her exile, but only after bestowing her and her people's curse on him and his progeny. Can there be any light in such a darkened time, and what could possibly light it?
