Village Theatre presents Zing Go The Strings featuring the talents of Correo Aéreo and The Tallboys at the Everett Performing Arts Center on Friday, June 27, 2008 at 8:00 PM.

Correo Aéreo (Air Mail) is a world music duo performing traditional music of Venezuela, Mexico, and Argentina. Featuring highly skilled musicians Abel Rocha and Madeleine Sosin, Correo Aéreo combines silken harmonies and an unusual array of instruments with a rich mastery of traditional rhythmic patterns and song. "Musically, a Correo Aéreo performance is like stepping through a doorway into another time and place…" The Austin Chronicle reports. Hailed for their musical and vocal virtuosity and their original interpretations of folkloric music, Correo Aéreo takes audiences on an unforgettable journey into the sonic riches of Latin America. Their performances propel audiences into a magical world blended from indigenous rhythms, passionate adventures, nature, and the poetry of life and death.

Based in Seattle, Washington, The Tallboys are a four piece old time string band well-versed in traditional fiddle tunes and mountain songs. They remain honest to their traditional inspirations, yet charge up their sound with a raw edge of gritty enthusiasm conjured from their years of street performing. The Stranger comments on a performance by The Tallboys, "…it's possibly the most fun you can have, ever." Talented vocalists, The Tallboys all share the singing, and their harmonies create a beautifully authentic old time sound.

This event is made possible by the Zing Go the Strings project of Town Hall Seattle with funding from the Boeing Company. For more information, please contact Michelle Sanders at (425) 392-1942 x124 or msanders@villagetheatre.org.
