Safeco Insurance Festál: Irish Week Festival March 14 - 15, 11am - 6pm at Center House, FREE
Irish tunes, step dancing and the Irish jig breathe spirit and life into this tuneful Festival. Compete in Gaelic games, trace your own Irish history, learn a little of the language and mingle with Irish celebrities.Headlining the weekend are The Muses featuring Tanya Brody and Matthew Gurnsey on a plethora of exotic Irish/Celtic instruments ranging from bodhran and concertina to harp and hammered dulcimer, fiddle and bones. In addition, a host of talented Irish dancers and singers from around the region will perform throughout the two-day festival. Join us at Safeco Insurance Festál 2009 and become a culture carrier (someone who contributes to cultural understanding through the sharing of stories, songs, music, food and family traditions). This festival is produced by Seattle Center in partnership with the Irish Heritage Club of Seattle. For details, click on www.irishclub.org.
