Seattle Rep's ALL THE WAY Becomes Highest-Grossing Show in Organization's History

By:

Robert Schenkkan's political drama All the Way has become the highest-grossing production in Seattle Repertory Theatre history, surpassing Lily Tomlin's The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe and Carrie Fisher's Wishful Drinking. The play is currently running now through Jan. 4, 2015 in the Bagley Wright Theatre. All the Way is presented in partnership with Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF).

Best availability is after Dec. 19, 2014. Due to high demand, a fifth "marathon day" has been added for audiences to see both All the Way and its companion piece The Great Society, in order, on the same day: Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015. Limited inventory remains on Jan. 4, 2015. The marathons on Dec. 7, Dec. 13 and Dec. 28 are sold out.

Accidental president. Brilliant politician. Flawed man. It's 1963 and an assassin's bullet catapults Lyndon Baines Johnson into the presidency. A Shakespearean figure of towering ambition and appetite, the charismatic, conflicted Texan hurls himself into Civil Rights legislation, throwing the country into turmoil. But in faraway Vietnam, a troublesome conflict looms. All the Way is complemented by the Seattle Rep-commissioned play The Great Society, depicting LBJ's tumultuous second presidential term. The Great Society opens Dec. 5, 2014 and will run in repertory with All the Way through Jan. 4, 2015.

Bill Rauch directs the cast of 18, led by Jack Willis as LBJ. Tickets are available through the Seattle Rep Box Office at 206-443-2222 as well as online at www.seattlerep.org.

Special Events - Hear directly from the cast members about their experiences with the LBJ plays at Stage Voices, held in the Leo K. Theatre on Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 6-7 p.m. This event is complimentary to Rep subscribers and donors; single ticket buyers may purchase this event for $10 by calling the Seattle Rep Box Office at 206-443-2222 or visiting www.seattlerep.org.

Seattle Rep's 2014-2015 Season Sponsor is ArtsFund, and the Season Media Partner is Seattle Met Magazine. Sponsors for All the Way and The Great Society include The Boeing Company, Stan and Alta Barer, and Marcia and Klaus Zech (Producing Sponsors); Steven A. and Connie E. Ballmer, John and Nancy Jo Keegan, Tom and Terri Olson Miller, Charlotte Lin and Robert Porter, Elizabeth Rudolf, and Ann Ramsay-Jenkins and The William M. Jenkins Advised Trust (Producing Partners). Additional funding has been received from Baird Private Wealth Management, the Bruce G. Cochener Foundation, NCTF/Edgerton Foundation Fund for New American Theatre, and the Henry M. Jackson Foundation. This program is supported, in part, by a grant from ArtsWA (Washington State Arts Commission). KCTS and The Seattle Times are media partners. The Great Society was developed, in part, with assistance from the Orchard Project, a program of The Exchange (www.exchangenyc.org).
