Seattle Public Theater Youth to Stage THE SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS, 10/24-26

By:

Seattle Public Theater (SPT) Youth presents an all-new take on Carlo Goldoni's classic farce, The Servant of Two Masters adapted and directed by Gregory Award-winner, Shawn Belyea.

Four (free) performances: October 24th at 7pm, October 25th at 2pm & 7pm, and October 26th at 2pm at the historic Bathhouse Theater on Green Lake. Admission to all Youth performances is free to the community. Donations are encouraged to support SPT's Theater Youth Program and to offer student tuition assistance.

Based on Goldini's 1743 classic of Commedia dell'arte, The Servant of Two Masters tells the tale of woebegone servant Truffaldino who encounters young Beatrice disguised as her dead brother on the hunt for his murderer. Driven to rash decisions thanks to his constant state of hunger, Truffaldino agrees to serve both Beatrice and his other master, Florindo. Hilarious events are set in motion as Truffaldino races from one end of Venice to the other in a desperate attempt to appease both masters, all for the promise of an additional meal.

Alive with colorful stock Commedia characters and endless slapstick humor, The Servant of Two Masters promises a raucous and hilarious joyride for all ages.

The Servant of Two Masters is adapted and directed by Shawn Belyea and assistant directed by Tara Kaine. The production features the acting talents of Sophia Bondi, Aliza Cosgrove, Will Domke, RubyRose Gonzalez, Finn Hammen, Eileen MacDonald, Hazel Montgomery, Aaron Sterne, Alexander Silva, Charlie Tadlock, Samuel Trott, Rachel Warshaw and Tessa Weinland. The Servant of Two Masters is co-stage managed by Gabe Airth and Finn Johnson with Windus on run crew.

Performance features ensemble Grades 7-10.
