Seattle Theatre Group (STG) presents GLOBAL DANCE PARTY on Friday, December 3, 2010 at The Moore Theatre at 7:30pm. GLOBAL DANCE PARTY is a high-energy performance of cultural and contemporary dance with music from around the globe. The performance features Northwest young performers in a collaborative cultural community engagement. Celebrate the rich cultural traditions and artistic talent found in the Northwest - Think Global, Dance Local!

Back by popular demand, see cutting edge hip hop piece "Mad Lab," choreographed by Napoleon & Tabitha D'Umo (choreographers and judges of FOX's So You Think You Can Dance). And stunning "tiny+rage=love," by local choreographer Amy O'Neal performed by long-time DANCE This performer, Alex Jackson on a 4' x 4' stage. Both pieces premiered this past summer during STG's DANCE This performance.

"Alex Jackson's solo performance blew audiences away last summer! So much so, we had to bring it back," said Vicky Lee, STG's Director of Education and Community Programs. "Jackson has been performing in DANCE This for 12 years; it's been a joy to see him grow into a breathtaking professional dancer and this piece really showcases his amazing talent."

Performers include:
NW Junior Pipe Band (Scottish Pipers)
Seattle Highland Dancing Association (Scottish Dancers)
NW Tap Connection (Tap)
Pacific NW Drumline (Percussion)
Te Fare O Tamatoa (Tahitian Dance & Drum)
Vicious Puppies (B-boy Dance Crew)
Alex Jackson (Contemporary Solo by Amy O'Neal)
Auditioned Dancers (Napoleon & Tabitha D'Umo hip hop)

"We're really excited to feature two cultural groups new cultural groups - The Seattle Highland dancers are hard to capture in the summer as they are busy performing at the Scottish Highland Games," said Liz Young, STG's Education and Community Partnerships Manager. "Te Fare O Tamatoa is a Tahitian dance and drumming group that is so lively and passionate. We're thrilled both to bring both groups to our stage."

In the vain of STG's DANCE This and More Music at The Moore, GLOBAL DANCE PARTY ends with a bang! Audiences of all ages will enjoy seeing the diverse artistic talent of the Pacific Northwest blended in a cross-cultural collaborative finale piece choreographed by Amy O'Neal. Never can the talent of these young artists be more prevalent than when they are all on one stage sharing movement and music at the same time.
