Seattle Shakespeare Company announced today that local actor and director Terry Edward Moore will stage the company's production of Shakespeare's comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor April 20-May 15, 2011.  Moore, one of the original founders of Seattle Shakespeare Company, returns after nearly 15 years to take part in the company's 20th Anniversary season.

"It is an honor and a thrill to have Terry's wonderful artistry back on our stage," said Artistic Director Stephanie Shine.  "I've tried for several years to match Terry up with a project at our company and it's just so wonderful that the stars aligned with this show and our 20th anniversary."

Moore co-founded Seattle Shakespeare Company (then called Seattle Shakespeare Festival) with a group of actors and artists in 1991 that included Cornelia Duryée Moore, Jay Johnson, Paul T. Mitri, Susan Riddiford Shedd, and Doyle & Lorre Myers. A former co-artistic director, Moore's directorial work was last seen at Seattle Shakespeare Company in a critically acclaimed production of Macbeth starring James Marsters (who later went on to appear in Buffy the Vampire Slayer on television) in the title role (1996). Moore also directed the theatre's inaugural production of Richard III (1991), Billy Bishop Goes to War (1992) which he also starred in, and Much Ado About Nothing (1993). His work as an actor has been seen at Seattle Repertory Theater, ACT, Intiman, Fifth Avenue, The Empty Space Theatre, Indiana Repertory Theater, Portland Repertory Theater, Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival, Seattle Children's' Theater, and Village Theatre among many others.
