The Monsters of Folk is an indie/folk supergroup consisting of Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes and Mystic Valley Band), Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes), Jim James (My Morning Jacket) and M. Ward (She & Him and a solo musician in his own right). The Monsters of Folk toured as Bright Eyes, with Jim James and M. Ward, and developed the name Monsters of Folk while on tour. The band will release their debut self-titled album on September 22, 2009 on Shangri-La Music.
