An intimate and nostalgic musical chronicling 50 years of life and love, Village Theatre brings I Do! I Do!, a two-person Broadway classic created by the writing team behind The Fantasticks, to the stage beginning in January 2019. The story, which garnered seven Tony Award nominations in 1967, begins on the wedding day of Michael and Agnes and follows the perils and triumphs of marriage, children, arguments, and more.

Village Theatre's production will feature Kendra Kassebaum (Broadway: RENT, Come From Away; Glinda in Wicked) and Peter Saide (Off-Broadway: Desperate Measures; National Tour: Prince Charming in Cinderella), taking on the roles that were originated on Broadway by Mary Martin and Robert Preston. "I am excited to be surrounded by the most incredible cast, crew, and production team a director could ever wish for," said director and choreographer Michael Arnold. "We are honored to bring this newly imagined production of a truly classic and timeless musical to the Village Theatre stage."

Joining director Michael Arnold on the artistic team is music director Bruce Monroe (Singin' in the Rain, My Fair Lady), scenic designer David Sumner (Dreamgirls), lighting designer Thorn Michaels, costume designer Karen Ann Ledger (Dreamgirls, My Heart Is the Drum), and resident sound designer Brent Warwick.

A story that crosses generations and connects us all in the very real (and ultimately human) journey of love, I Do! I Do! is on stage in Issaquah January 17 - February 24, 2019 before moving to Village Theatre's Everett location from March 1 - 24, 2019. This production is sponsored in part by Agencyone, The Daily Herald, ArtsFund, Boeing, the City of Issaquah, Microsoft, the City of Everett, The Shubert Foundation, United, The Seattle Times, Seattle Northcountry, Lombardi's, and Pogacha.
