FROST/NIXON Comes To The Paramount Theatre 5/6 - 5/10

By:

Seattle Theatre Group (STG) and Seattle Public Library host a lively conversation about the role of media in politics from the 1977 interview of President Richard Nixon by British talk show host David Frost to the 2008 interview of Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin by CBS anchor Katie Couric. The discussion will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 2:00pm - 3:00pm at Seattle's Downtown Library. Local political media and academics participating include: Lynne Varner from The Seattle Times and Knute Berger from Crosscut.com (and former Seattle Weekly reporter), and Mark Smith a University of Washington Political Science Professor moderated by KUOW Weekday host Steve Scher. RSVP is recommended to lizy@stgpresents.org.

See the Broadway touring show FROST/NIXON at The Paramount Theatre May 6-10, 2009. All tickets are $19.77 (not including fees) and are available at www.stgpresents.org, by phone at (206) 292-ARTS (2787) and at Ticketmaster outlets.

FROST/NIXON tackles the question: How did David Frost, a famous British talk-show host with a playboy reputation, elicit the apology that the rest of the world was waiting to hear from former President Richard Nixon? Award-winning actor Stacy Keach and Alan Cox lead a cast of 10 in this fast-paced Tony Award® nominated new play which shows the determination, conviction and cunning of two men as they square off in one of the most monumental television interviews of all time. FROST/NIXON is written by Peter Morgan, writer of The Queen, The Last King of Scotland, & HBO's "Longford", and directed by Olivier Award winner Michael Grandage and assistant director Seth Sklar-Heyn.
