Edmonds Center for the Arts Presents MORGAN'S JOURNEY Today
Edmonds Center for the Arts will present MORGAN'S JOURNEY today, May 8, 2013, with two matinees for families at 10:00am and 12:30pm. Tickets are very affordable at $10 adults and $8 Youth, and are available at Edmonds Center for the Arts (ECA) Box Office (425)275-9595, or online at www.ec4arts.org.
The play is geared towards children ages 7 and under and their families and is a charming exploration of joy full yet challenging human experiences, offering audiences a unique opportunity for very active participation. This interactive piece engages children's' audiences with its physical comedy and wit, with the audience ultimately guiding Morgan to the true meaning of love.
From the moment of his birth from a patched-up old rucksack, we follow Morgan the Clown on a journey of self-discovery. The audience celebrates his birthday and shares his delight as he opens the presents he receives. Through a common yet hurtful experience of conflict, Morgan learns a valuable and moving lesson about friendship.
Morgan's Journey, originally created by Robert Morgan and director David Craig in 1980 is now the longest-running touring play in Canadian history. It won the prestigious Chalmer's Canadian Play Award for Outstanding Play and has been delighting children, adults and elders around the world. Previously featured at Seattle Children's Theatre, this play has rightly earned the description given to it, "a true Canadian classic."
Edmonds Center for the Arts (ECA) is a non-profit performing arts facility located in picturesque downtown Edmonds, Washington. Housed in the historic original Edmonds High School building, ECA was remodeled and opened in October 2006 to be a cultural resource for the Puget Sound region through performing arts presentations, community partnerships and education outreach programs.
