"Never say you know the last word about any human heart", Henry James

Neil LaBute's Wrecks and other plays, is a collection of rarely staged plays. In fact Mr. LaBute refers to them as a "group of bastards who have waited to find a home." They are not linked by a distinct theme. Yet seen alone or together they all illuminate the moral complexities of our individual and human condition. Mr. LaBute's characters and their stories, love them or hate them, shine an unapologetic light on the rawness of what it is to be human. These pieces are written with his usual wit, tenderness, and iconoclastic urgency.

Wrecks, is a monologue written "as a further investigation into the Greek theatre and, more specifically, how the themes and plots of those amazing plays might be utilized in a contemporary way." Wrecks poses as its central question: What is the capacity of the human heart to love and accept, even amidst enduring deceit? Wrecks will be performed in conjunction with some of the author's short-works including... Coax, Stand-Up, and Falling in Like.
