PUTTANA is a fragmented performance from Italian theatre company TeatroE that interrogates the sexualisation of women's bodies and the violence that follows. Performer Beatrice Elena Festi embodies five characters — student, sex worker, husband, wife, and young man — each with contending desires and intentions, as voices overlap and collapse to create a narrative that defies simple moral judgement. The production uses binaural audio technology to envelop the audience in a three-dimensional soundscape, placing each viewer within the boundaries of the bar, the room, and the mind. Directed by Mirko Corradini, with dramaturgy by Maura Pettorruso and musical composition by Michele Callà, the show makes its UK premiere at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026.
