Stand Up Against MND will be held on Monday 14 March (7.30pm) at the King's Theatre Glasgow as part of the city's International Comedy Festival. Last year's show raised around £25,000 for research into MND.

MND patient, campaigner and founder of Gordonsfightback.com, Gordon Aikman, has set himself a target of raising half a million pounds for MND research. He said: "I'm delighted that so many amazing comedians are coming together to help fund a cure for MND. Last year's show raised a bucket load of cash for MND research and I'm confident we can raise even more this year. Every ticket gets us closer to that £500,000 fundraising target."

Fred MacAulay said: "The show's going to be a great laugh for a great cause. Every pound raised is progress towards a cure for this terrible disease so get your tickets now!"

Sarah Watson, Director of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, said: "This is your chance to see some of the best comedians at the festival and fund a cure for a horrible disease. Last year's show was a sell out and raised around £25,000. I'm confident we can do even better than that this year. The Glasgow International Comedy Festival is delighted to be supporting the incredible work that both Gordon and MND Scotland do."

Iain McWhirter, Head of Fundraising and Volunteering at MND Scotland, said: "MND kills. Tragically, we still don't know why people get it, how to prevent it or cure it. Through research we can understand the disease better and then defeat it once and for all. Research is expensive so without fundraisers like this we wouldn't be able to make nearly as much progress in tackling MND."
