James and Jamesy pitch themselves as being suitable for fans of Monty Python, Dr Seuss and Mr Bean. Nothing about this show is similar in any way to these but perhaps they thought this made it clear that it is a comedy show for children.

The show opens with Jamesy drinking tea alone in a whimsical fashion for what felt like around 10minutes of the show. There were no laughs to be had here, just a sense we might all be in for a long hour.

When James, essentially the narrator of the piece, enters the show hopes are raised but for another 10 minutes or so, no jokes seem present - just some terrible exaggerated English accents.

There is some some fun to be had for the kids during the later audience participation sections (getting one child's mum to dress up as a general, pretending someone else is an old man with a wooden leg) but not enough here to keep adults entertained.

This show may have found a more suitable audience if it had been listed as a children's show but there are many much better family shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
