Eligibility criteria

U.S. citizens who reside or formerly resided in Northeastern Pennsylvania, demonstrating exceptional ability and intent to make fine arts their life’s work (painting, sculpture, photography, music, drama, dance, literature, architecture, etc.). Formal degree not required. Preference for NEPA residents. Award funds an approved individual study/project/travel program.

Application steps

  1. Register at belinarts.org and complete the official application by Jan
  2. 31.
  3. Submit detailed project proposal with budget and expert recommendation letters.
  4. If named a finalist, appear in person before the Selection Committee.
  5. If awarded, file Nov 1 and May 1 progress reports.

Overview

For almost half a century the Belin Arts Scholarship has funded the noble arts of painting, sculpture, photography, music, drama, dance, literature, and architecture, helping to bring success to the fortunate recipients, as well as joy to an appreciative public. The Scholarship award is in the amount of up to $10,000. The Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to artists of outstanding aptitude and promise in the fine arts. It is intended to aid the recipients in their development into professional artists. The recipient may use the money for formal or informal study or travel conducted according to an individual program or proposal which has had the prior approval by the Selection Committee through the application process.
