The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training will kick off its 2018-19 season with Tom Stoppard's timeless masterpiece, Arcadia. Second-year Conservatory students bring to life the story of a young genius and her private tutor caught in an epic game of lost-and-found between two centuries. Part mystery and part love story, Arcadia pits elegance and poetry against the cold certainties of science and physics and brings to question the determinability of the universe. Arcadia will be performed in the Cook Theatre, October 31 - November 18 with a preview night October 30. Tickets are $30.

"Arcadia is filled with intelligent, unflappable characters who care deeply about ideals, values, philosophy, science, and literature," said Director James Dean Palmer, "They ask big questions and they have big brains and they express themselves charmingly, with wit and humor. Through their well crafted, inspiring, romantic arguments we are reminded of the grace of thought, the art of conversation, the thrill of disagreement, and the rigor of discovery."

The creative team includes set design by Jeffrey Weber, production and technical direction by Chris McVicker, costumes by Sofia Gonzalez, sound design by Alex Pinchin, choreography by Amber McNew, vocal coaching by Patricia Delorey, and movement coaching by Eliza Ladd. The cast is made up of Conservatory students Creg Sclavi, Carla Corvo, Jacob Sefcak, Marc Bitler, Joe Ferrareli, Michael Judah, Alex Pelletier, Amber McNew, Jillian Cicalese, Jonathan Grunert, and Brian Ritchie. The show will be crewed by students as well.
