POONSTRUCK Comes to San Francisco Fringe Festival Image

POONSTRUCK™ follows a shero's journey told through the orifices of Dr Tallulah, a fiery Sexual Activist, Zen Cosmetologist, and Intuitive Energy Healer. Imagine a metaphysical cross between Archie Bunker, Dr Ruth, Carol Burnett, and Maria Bamford with a splash of cosmic organic viagra! Dr Tallulah's twisted storytelling involves a personal revelation, embodies the zeitgeist of a New Age baby boomer generation, utilizes Qi-Gong Gi-Long foam rolling techniques, and taps into 'La Femme Fontaine' (just a little (spr)YAY!)!

This hilarious journey juxtaposes physical pratfalls with seriousness, absurdities with sincerity, and pathos with humor while walking the line between satire and the performer's (Nesbitt's) own vulnerability in her quest for intimacy!? ?Come witness Dr Tallulah's humorous and spiraling descent into the exploration of her sexuality, which ultimately reveals her HEART's truest desire. ?Everybody welcome. ?No vagina is necessary to tap into the fold! ??'Heartfelt, hilarious, and total activism!'
(THINK: ?original, one women, story, performance, physical comedy, foam roller)?

?KELLY NESBITT (producer/performer) is a writer and contemporary performance artist based in Portland, Oregon, who creates original outlandish performances that are character driven, rooted in movement-based theater, find power in the femme experience, and defy easy categorization. Audiences members have described Nesbitt's performances as transcendentalist hilarity, wonderfully wrenching, and utterly inexplicable! kellynesbitt.com

Now celebrating its 26th season, the San Francisco Fringe Festival presents a bold line-up of eclectic theatrical offerings for adventurous and open-minded audiences of all persuasions. Often over-the-top and under-the-radar of traditional theatre-going fare, the Fringe champions the motto No Risk, No Art and has its rabid devotees and wins more fans every year. Most performances run under one hour and it all takes place under one roof, allowing audiences to march from venue to venue, seeing as many shows as possible in a single day.

The 2017 San Francisco Fringe Festival runs September 8 through 23, with performances all days except Mondays, and brings 30 unique productions to San Francisco's EXIT Theatreplex located at 156 Eddy Street in the Tenderloin. For complete listings of shows and curtain times, patrons can visit sffringe.org or call the Fringe Hotline at (415) 673-3847. Tickets are $12 (at the door, cash only) or less per show, with a ten-show Frequent Fringer pass available at $85 and a five-show pass available at $45. Advanced ticket sales are available through the Fringe website: sffringe.or.
