The Empress Theatre Presents Comedy Night With Rocky LaPorte With his unmistakable accent and his hilarious yet endearing delivery, Comedian Rocky Laporte is becoming more well-known by the day. He was a finalist in Last Comic Standing, winner of the national "Club Comic of the Year" awards in Las Vegas, and winner of the Johnnie Walker National Comedy Search. He's done a guest appearance on "The Tonight Show" and did a short-lived "Rocky LaPorte Show." Films include "The Shaggy Dog" with Tim Allen and "The Godfathers of Comedy."

Sammy Obeid is a Fremont native and former math teacher. He's appeared on "America's Got Talent," "Last Comic Standing," and "The Conan O'Brien Show." Sammy's released one album, "Get Funny or Die Trying." His comedy is known for its "analytic style full of wordplay, clever misdirection and ethnic humor riffing on his Middle Eastern roots (he's Lebanese-American)". He is perhaps best known for performing 1,000 nights of comedy in a row, a current world record that includes performing on a Thanksgiving and Christmas in Vallejo to keep the record alive.

Michael's Pritchard is one of the most recognizable figures in the Bay Area not only for his uncanny entertainment talents but for his ability to communicate with children through numerous PBS specials and his work with law enforcement. Michael has appeared in several films and TV programs, including an Emmy-winning episode of "Taxi."

Drawing from his counseling background, Michael began using humor to inspire, teach communication skills, anger management, diversity, conflict resolution and overcoming burnout and stress. His broad audience base - from corporate employees, healthcare workers, and government and state officials - have honored him with countless standing ovations and numerous awards including: President's Volunteer Action Award, Commendation Office of the Attorney General, Paul Harris Fellowship Rotary International, Toastmaster's International Speaker, Outstanding Performance Federal Executive Board, Josephine Duveneck Humanitarian Award and the Key to the City of San Francisco.
