Hello BroadwayWorld! My name is Destiny Walsh and I'll be going into my Senior year studying Digital Film with an emphasis in Production at Grand Canyon University. While I am a Film major, I have such a love for theater and have obtained numerous theatrical roles both as an actor and a techie. Over the course of the next few months I'll be covering a variety of topics such as GCU's Theatre program, Audition Tips and Tricks, and so much more!

More about me

Some of the shows I've been in as an actor include The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Wizard of Oz: The Deleted Scene, After Hours, and Cheating Death. Some of the shows I've been in as a techie include The Lady's Not for Burning, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, 12 Angry Jurors, a student second series show titled Heart of the Oak, and even a show I created was part of a 24-hour play event titled Miles from Words. I feel super lucky to have been a part of this many shows as cast and crew and to learn the perspective of both an actor and a techie.

What am I up to?

I've gained a reputation on campus for being that person you see around a lot constantly doing something, so one of the other parts of campus I'm involved in would be Alpha Psi Omega. I just recently got inducted into the National Theater Honor Society, but for the past few years I've helped out with numerous events. On campus, I have also been an actor for two of the haunted houses that a group called CAB (Canyon Activity Board) has put on. Outside of all of these school-related activities I also love to go antiquing or even to the movies, but I do also love to sit at home and read a good book or even paint.

Over the summer I don't have anything major planned, I will be preparing for the upcoming season at GCU's Ethington Theatre. The 2024-2025 season includes shows like Ada and the Engine, The Diary of Anne Frank, Beauty and the Beast, The Glass Menagerie, Little Women, and finally Tomás and the Library Lady. This is going to be quite the season and I can't wait to see what happens with all of these shows.

While I prepare for my senior year I am excited to be sharing more with you all and continuing to learn as you all learn more about me and some of the wonderful topics I'll be writing on.
