What would you do for the role of a lifetime? In the case of Tina Denmark, an adorable 8-year-old with a consuming drive for stardom, the real question is: "What wouldn't you do?" Ambition runs amok in Ruthless! The Musical. This outrageous musical hit is a hysterical send up of the entertainment business. You'll laugh, cry and be on The Edge of your seat from the suspenseful start to a truly unforgettable finish.

Winner of a Drama Desk Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award, Ruthless! The Musical opened off-Broadway at The Players Theatre on March 13, 1992 and closed January 24, 1993 after 342 performances. It was directed by Joel Paley with musical direction by Marvin Laird. The central role of Tina was played by future Broadway actress Laura Bell Bundy, and featured Natalie Portman and Britney Spears as understudies.

Ruthless! The Musical was then produced in Los Angeles at the Canon Theatre, where it opened on November 15, 1993. A recording was made by the 1993 Los Angeles cast on Varese Sarabande and released in 1994.

Director Chrissy Burns, Musical Director Rick Shaffer, Choreographer Jennifer Solomon-Rubio, Assistant Director Billy Stevens and Producer Luc R. Pelletier lead the award-winning creative and production team. This is the team that brought you 42nd Street last season.

Lanier (Myrna Thorn), Dawn Marie Zuniga-Williams (Miss Block), Sarah LeClair (Eve) and Jada Garland (Louise Lerman). Mackenzie House will understudy Tina Denmark.
