Broadway/San Diego Adds POTTED POTTER and PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION to Lineup

Broadway/San Diego ~ A Nederlander Presentation is taking audiences on an amazing theatrical journey with their upcoming 2013-2014 season, packed with Tony Award Winning, world-class productions of musicals presented at The San Diego Civic Theatre -and they have just added a few more! From the creators of "South Park" and winner of nine Tony Awards, THE BOOK OF MORMON will play a limited two-week engagement May 27-June 8, 2014. The New York Times calls it "the best musical of this century" and Entertainment Weekly says it's "the funniest musical of all time."

Following the news that the national tour of THE MUSIC OF Andrew Lloyd Webber has been postponed for a subsequent season, a new tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT will fill the same time slot - June 24-29th, 2014 and will feature Broadway and television star Diana DeGarmo and Broadway star Ace Young. New added season events include POTTED POTTER, The Unauthorized Harry Experience - A Parody that takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing all seven Harry Potter books (and a real life game of Quidditch) into seventy hilarious minutes; and the triumphant return of A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION, the live radio broadcast which features comedy sketches, music, and Garrison Keillor's signature monologue, "The News from Lake Wobegon."

Rounding out the season are the previously announced national tours of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, EVITA and MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, with an Extra-Season Return Engagement of NETworks Presents Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!

"Our new 2013-2014 Season includes Tony Award winning shows, as well as timeless classics, lively 1970s disco hits and 1950s rock and roll," commented Nederlander Vice President Joe Kobryner. This year, audiences are invited to travel the globe with Broadway's international sensations. Voyage to Argentina with EVITA; take a journey through Australia's outback with PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT; trek through Dublin, Ireland and fall in love with the music of ONCE; come home for an unforgettable night in rock 'n' roll history with the legends of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET; and finally, THE BOOK OF MORMON anchors the 2013-2014 season. This year, the extra season events includes a trip to provincial France for Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST; a jaunt cross the Atlantic to the home of Harry for POTTED POTTER; and a ride on the airwaves with A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION.
