Utah Shakespearean Festival's 2010 Summer Season Offers The Chance To Catch A Free Show

By: Nov. 30, 2009

Tickets are now on sale for the 2010 season at the Utah Shakespearean Festival. The Festival is pleased to offer a Subscriber Six-Pack discount package. Patrons who purchase tickets to all six summer productions before December 22, 2009 will receive one play for FREE. After December 22, 2009, a discount of $3 off per ticket will be available to those who purchase tickets to all six summer productions.

"We want to make it affordable for everyone to visit the Utah Shakespearean Festival this summer," said Kami Terry, Festival marketing director. "In addition to the discounts we have lowered the prices in our balcony seating to $21."

During the summer season, audiences in the open-air Adams Shakespearean Theatre will have the opportunity to see three popular plays by William Shakespeare: "Macbeth," "The Merchant of Venice," and "Much Ado About Nothing." In the beautiful indoor Randall L. Jones Theatre, the Festival will stage three additional productions: a compelling adaptation of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice," the hilarious Alfred Hitchcock mystery spoof "The 39 Steps," and the world premier of "Great Expectations," a new musical based on the novel by Charles Dickens.

"We have also extended the summer season in the Adams Shakespearean Theatre by one week to give audiences more opportunity to see these popular plays," said Terry.

The buy-six-get-one-free offer is good for productions on any date during the summer season, and tickets can be purchased in any seating section. The only requirement is that tickets be purchased to all six shows when the order is placed.

The 2010 summer season runs from June 28 to September 4 with performances at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Tickets are currently available at www.bard.org and 1-800-PLAYTIX.
