Photo Flash: Desert Star's Parody SNOOTY AND THE BEAST: A TWISTED FAIRY TALE Begins Performances 8/28

Desert Star puts a new spin on a tale that’s as old as time with the new production, “Snooty and the Beast: A Twisted Fairy Tale.” Get ready to laugh happily every after beginning August 28th at Desert Star Playhouse.

Written by Ben E. Millet and directed by Scott Holman, the classic fairy tale gets a reboot in this hilarious Desert Star parody.  A beautiful but stuck-up young woman finds herself held captive in the castle of an enchanted Beast.  The Beast hopes she can break his spell, but she’s a bigger monster than he is!  Can Beauty overcome her vanity to see that the soul of a man inhabits the creature?  And can the Beast save her family from the clutches of an evil Duke? 

”Snooty and the Beast: A Twisted Fairy Tale” runs from August 28 to November 7, 2009.  The evening also includes one of Desert Star’s signature musical olios following the show. The ”Monster Mash” olio features comical monsters and howlingly great songs mixed with more of Desert Star’s signature brand of off-the-wall comedy.

Food is available from an á la carte menu and is served right at your table.  The menu includes gourmet pizza, fresh wraps, appetizers, and scrumptious desserts.
