Tired of the same old shows every Christmas season? Treat your family to a delightful comedy that will knock your toe-shoes off: "Nutcracker: Men in Tights." This jolly holiday romp opens November 12 at Desert Star Theatres.
It's Christmastime, and a small Utah town is in financial trouble. The town council has come up with a plan to save them from disaster. They'll put on a show! And what better show than "The Nutcracker?" Hoping to draw big crowds, they sign up a once-famous dancer who is trying to revive his career. But when a crabby town member is overlooked for the show, she sets out to ruin everything. Chaos and hilarity ensue, culminating in the craziest production of "The Nutcracker" you've ever seen!
New this year, Desert Star will present "Nutcracker: Men in Tights" on both stages: the original Playhouse Theatre as well as in the Dinner Theatre. Those choosing the Dinner Theatre will enjoy the Grand Holiday Buffet which features succulent Baron of Beef, roasted Turkey, Chicken Marsala, Tilapia in Orange Sauce, Beef Stroganoff, savory Sweet Potatoes and a variety of fresh salads and flavorful sides (menu may change nightly). A delectable dessert bar is also included.
For Playhouse guests, food is available from an á la carte menu and is served right at your table. The menu includes gourmet pizza, fresh wraps, appetizers, and scrumptious desserts.
"Nutcracker: Men in Tights" combines wacky gags and zany characters with Desert Star's famous brand of screwball comedy. This show will run from November 12 to January 2. The evening also includes one of Desert Star's signature musical olios following the show. The "Christmas Wishes Olio" features many of your favorite, heartwarming Christmas songs, served up with a helping of Desert Star's holiday comedy. The evening includes a visit from the Jolly Old Elf himself, with a treat for all the good little girls and boys.
