Park City Institute Presents TRIUMPH OF SPIRIT:Two Driven Athletes. Two Moving Films

Park City Institute presents Triumph of Spirit - Two driven athletes, two moving films, Friday Aprill 5th, from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m, at the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Center for the Performing Arts, in Park City. The evening, presented in conjunction with the National Ability Center, will include two short documentary films and appearances by their subjects.

"These two athletes' stories are an expression of how they each overcame significant obstacles," said PCI Executive Director, Teri Orr. "They bring to light important messages about resilience, ability, and mental wellness, our community needs, right now. We are proud to partner with NAC, and these two athletes, to tell their stories."

"Return To Paradise - A Skier's Journey" - is the story of Mike Vowels, once a champion freestyle skier, who suffered a paralyzing accident. After a 28 year hiatus, Vowels decided to return to skiing, and the film follows his mental and physical journey.

"Sound of Silence: Born Severely Deaf" - is the story of Robin Gillon, who found success-and happiness-on skis. Born severely deaf, Gillon faced bullying and struggles at school, but refused to let the actions of others and his disability hold him back.

Both athletes will appear onstage at the event. A variety of related sports and wellness organizations from Summit County, will also host tables in the lobby of the Eccles Center, before and after the screening.
