PTC's Loge Gallery presents SOMETHING ABOUT PLACE "Something About Place" is an exhibit by three Utah painters, LANE BENNION, ANGELA FIFE and JUSTIN WHEATLEY, on display during the run of Bright Star, Jan. 12 - 27, 2018, in our Loge Gallery.

Each artist is inspired by a particular element of the world and life. For Bennion, it's the chaos of the modern world.

"I am often attracted to busy, chaotic subject matter and the irony that is present in them," he says. "I'm especially drawn to the visual noise found in retail stores, malls, and amusement parks. ... This sensory overload seems to cause our minds to block out much of the visual noise, so that what was meant to be an attention grabbing seductive scene has the opposite effect."

Fife pulls from her experiences as a woman, mother and painter. "One does not exist without the other," she says. "They are intertwined and they compliment each other."

Wheatley says that personal experiences are his primary source of inspiration: "My beliefs have always been a part of my work. To me it is very evident, right there, easy to see. At the same time, I realize that it is not evident or easy to see for the majority of people that look at the work."

All three artists display their work at the Terzian Galleries in Park City, Utah.
The Loge Gallery is open on the mezzanine level of the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for the general public, and before and after performances for ticket holders.
