2016-2017 Family Series Season at B Street Theatre Announced

B Street Theatre is thrilled to present its upcoming season of kid friendly theatre for the entire family. This year features several exciting productions including: a critically acclaimed script for young audiences; an original adaptation of the classic tales of Robin Hood; a World Premiere capturing California's rich history and finally, Allison Gregory's latest adaptation of Barbara Park's beloved Junie B. Jones series.

Artistic Director Buck Busfield says: "As we prepare to move into B Street's new facility on Capitol Avenue, we will continue to raise the bar and present the highest quality of professional theatre for children and families. This year features a series of exciting, fun and educational titles that both kids and adults will enjoy."

The Garden of Rikki Tikki Tavi by Y York October 1 - November 6, 2016 "An experience that should delight any child." - The Seattle Times The gloves are off in this wild comic adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's famous book. In one corner it's Rikki Tikki Tavi, the loveable mongoose. In the other corner it's Nag, the fearsome Cobra. Watch as these two square off in this fun and musical show. Recommended for ages 6 and up.

Robin Hood by Jerry R. Montoya November 19 - December 27, 2016 Jerry R. Montoya, playwright of critically acclaimed Family Series productions The Flying Machine and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein will adapt the tales of Robin Hood for the 2016 - 2017 Season. An original retelling of the classic hero of Sherwood Forest. Four actors bring to life the story of Robin Hood and his merry men as they steal from the rich to give to the poor. This action packed adaptation features sword-play, chivalry and plenty of laughs. Recommended for ages 6 and up.

Going West: The Story of the Transcontinental Railroad by B Street Staff February 25 - April 2, 2017 In this original work, B Street Theatre celebrates the men and women whose labor built the West. With courage and fortitude, the singular vision of these leaders created one of the most celebrated and important ventures of our time. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Junie B. Jones is Not A Crook by Allison Gregory April 22 - May 28, 2017 B Street Family Series beloved favorite Junie B Jones is back with an all new adventure. Junie B. has a pair of brand new furry mittens but chaos erupts when they go missing from the playground. Join us for this delightful adaptation of Barbara Park's endearing book. Recommended for ages 5 and up.
