On the stage of the Ekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Prince Igor first appeared in 1912. Staging, which opened the 100-th theatrical season, became the eleventh in a row. To create the performance outstanding theatrical masters were invited: people's artist of Russia, laureate of the State Prize of Russia Alexander Lazarev (conductor-Director), people's artist of Russia Yury Laptev (Director-choreographer) and honored artist of Russia, laureate of the State Prize of the USSR, Igor Ivanov (artist, Director). Chief choirmaster Theatre honoured worker of Arts of Russia and Bashkortostan, people's artiste of Bashkortostan Elvira Gajfullina acted as chorus master-art direction. Ballet Master Alexander Tikhomirov has created its own choreographic version of the famous polovtsian dances.
Today, the academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet – special premiere. "Prince Igor" entrusted to open 100-oldest theater season in Yekaterinburg. Conductor-Director national artist of Russia Alexander Lazarev recalled that the premiere of "Prince Igor" was held in 1890, on the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre, already after the death of Alexander Borodin. His opera completed Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Alexander Glazunov: "two composer lay down your puzzle of fragments of pieces by Borodin as they then seemed correct.
