FOLLIES, by Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman, directed by John Christian Plummer (Awakening the Mind, Skirball Center; Spooky Action, New Victory; Our Town, Hudson Valley Shakespeare) with choreography by Christine Bokhour (Broadway: Chicago, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; National tours: Chicago, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Cats, Sunset Boulevard), musical direction by Christopher Fasulo (NY Theater Barn, Daryl Roth Theatre), set design by Dana Kenn (Broadway: Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard; Off-Broadway: Manipulation, Dracula)
Featuring Lisa Sabin (2024 Grammy nominee for Sondheim Unplugged), Jordan Kaplan (ACT, Trinity Rep, Centenary Stage, Second Stage), Elizabeth Keifer (TV: Guiding Light), Maia Guest (Westport Country Playhouse, Hudson Valley Shakespeare; TV: Granite Flats).
FOLLIES was originally produced on Broadway in 1971. It was nominated for 11 Tony Awards and won 7. The story is in one dreamlike night at a theater scheduled for demolition, previously home to a musical revue akin to Ziegfeld Follies, with a pastiche of musical styles from the '20's and '30's. FOLLIES has had multiple Broadway and London productions, as well as regional productions and concert versions in Dublin, London and Sydney.
The Depot production features a cast of 25 and a live band, and runs weekends through November 23.
