With sharp wit and incisive observation, George Bernard Shaw centers his classic play on the relationship between the Roman leader, Julius Caesar, and the ambitious, young, Egyptian Queen, Cleopatra, as he guides her to be an effective queen and ally to Rome. Drawing upon her innate shrewdness and what she learns from Caesar, Cleopatra becomes the queen that history and legend proclaim and remember.
