Hoff-Barthelson Music School to Host 2018 College Advisory Session

Hoff-Barthelson Music School hosts its annual College Advisory on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 3:30 p.m., at the Music School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale, New York. This program is open to the public and free of charge.

Hoff-Barthelson Music School (HBMS) faculty members and recent alumni will be featured in a roundtable discussion, moderated by HBMS Dean Ruth Alperson, about the college selection process. The discussion will center on the continuation of music education and performance at the college level, with an emphasis on the merits of conservatory vs. liberal arts colleges. This is an excellent opportunity for high school students with an interest in a college focus on music to begin the college exploration process. Alumni scheduled to participate include Sarah Kenner (The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Boyer School of Music) and Caroline Kaufman (Harvard).

Special guest speaker will be well-known educational consultant Jane Klemmer, founder of Klemmer Educational Consulting. Ms. Klemmer holds a BA in music from Wesleyan University, (viola) and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University.

For more information, call 914-723-1169, email hb@hbms.org or visit www.hbms.org.
