Alan J. Chille, General Manager at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC), was the recipient of this year's Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF)'s Producer's Circle Award. The award is given in recognition of community and business leaders who have assisted in cultivating the RIIFF.
RIIFF's Executive Director, George T. Marshall, said, "Alan has been a tremendous support to the RIIFF. If it weren't for people like him, the RIIFF would not have become the internationally recognized cinematic event that it is today. The Producer's Circle Award is a tangible way to show appreciation and respect to those that have helped us along the way."
Chille said, "I am grateful to be the recipient of this year's award. It's a very kind gesture of the RIIFF, and I appreciate it very much."
J.L. "Lynn" Singleton, PPAC's President, said, "The PPAC staff and I would like to congratulate Alan for winning the Producer's Circle Award. We're very happy for him. This is the second year that the RIIFF has held its opening night at PPAC and Alan has done a lot to help make the RIIFF's opening night run as smoothly as possible."
The ceremony took place at the Columbus Theatre Arts Center in Providence on Wednesday, August 5, 2009.
