Epic Brings DEATH AND THE MAIDEN To The Stage Epic Theatre Company continues its exploration of conviction with a modern masterpiece--Ariel Dorfman's "Death and the Maiden."

Paulina and her husband, Gerardo, live far away from a brutal past--one where Paulina was scarred and traumatized as a political prisoner. But what they thought was part of their history reemerges when a stranger shows up at their door and Paulina swears he's the man responsible for the horrors inflicted upon her all those years ago. Is she telling the truth or should she be doubted?

"I've been waiting a long time to bring this play to Epic," says Artistic Director Kevin Broccoli, "The first time I saw it, it left me stunned. It's a truly great piece of theater--a thriller with a political edge that presents some fascinating ideas. It's also a crucial piece to be doing at a time when believing victims has a national spotlight focused on it."

"Death and the Maiden" is a powerful and potent masterwork that asks who we can trust to believe us when the demons from our past make their way into our present.
