Fletcher Opera Theater Hosts Auditions For A CHRISTMAS STORY 7/25

AUDITIONS will be held FOR Jean Shepherd's A CHRISTMAS STORY Comedy. The show is adapted by Philip Grecian

SEEKING TO CAST:
ADULTS (ages 30 - 60 in appearance) CHILDREN (ages 6 - 13 in appearance)
All roles available. Non-union contracts. Adults and lead actors will be given a stipend based on part.

AUDITION DATE/PROCEDURES: Sunday, July 25th beginning at 6:00pm. No appointments; sign in begins at 5:00pm. Bring resume with headshot or photo attached via staple. Actors will audition based on sign in order. Callbacks are later the same day and Monday, July 26th (time TBA.)

AUDITION LOCATION: Fletcher Opera Theater at Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts, 2 E. South St., Raleigh, NC 27601. Please enter at doors immediately in front of the Fletcher lobby area.

Hard copies may be picked up at Broadway Series South Box office, North Carolina Theatre and NCT Conservatory for the Performing Arts. This play is directly based on the beloved movie classic A CHRISTMAS STORY. Please watch the movie for character and style familiarity.

CHARACTERS:
RALPH as an adult (male lead age 30 to 50 in appearance). The narrator and storyteller. Also plays THE COWBOY, TREE LOT OWNER, DELIVERY MAN, VOICE OF A NEIGHBOR. Click for sides.
RALPHIE PARKER - as a child (male lead age 8 to 13 in appearance.) Click for sides.
MOTHER - Raphie's mother (age 30 to 50 in appearance.) Click for sides.
THE OLD MAN - Ralphie's father (age 30 to 60 in appearance.) Also plays SANTA CLAUS who is heard, never seen. Click for sides.
RANDY - Ralphie's little brother (age 6 to 8 in appearance.) Click for sides.
MISS SHIELDS - Ralphie's teacher (age 30 to 60 in appearance.) Click for sides.
FLICK - Ralphie's friend and classmate (age 8 to 13 in appearance.) Click for sides.

EXTRAS - children for classroom and playground scenes.

REHEARSALS/PERFORMANCES: Rehearsals begin Saturday, November 20th at the Kennedy Theatre. Performances are December 7th through December 24th at Fletcher Opera Theater. Click here for a tentative rehearsal and performance schedule. Actors cast are required to be "off book" by the first rehearsal. No conflicts will be permitted for any rehearsal or performance.
