O FEIO Playing at Almada Theater Company Through 1/27

O FEIO is playing at Almada Theater Company in Portugal now until January 27th, 2019.

Released at the Almada Festival in 2017, O FEIO was immediately a critical and public success. Javier Villán, from El Mundo, called it "a magnificent exercise of plastic and sensorial beauty". The consecutive sold-out sessions in the revival of the show justified the return of the story of Lette, an individual who discovers from day to night to be "incredibly ugly", but to whom the amendment (in this case, the plastic operation) will be revealed much worse than the sonnet. Mayenburg, drawing on the acidity of comedy, draws us a modern parable about the everyday world of appearances.

Marius von Mayenburg was born in Munich in 1972 and graduated in Ancient German. In 1922 he moved to Berlin, where he studied dramaturgy between 1994 and 1998. In 1998 he joined the artistic direction of Baracke, the experimental room of the Deutsches Theater in Berlin. From 1999, together with Thomas Ostermeier, he moves to the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, where he remains as a resident dramaturgist.

Toni Cafiero graduated from the Jacques Lecoq School in Paris and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, where she studied scenography. As a director he worked in Spain, France, Austria, the United States, Croatia, Algeria, Portugal, Turkey and in the training area he was invited by RESAD of Madrid, the Theater Institute of Barcelona, ??Conservators of Nantes, Montpellier and Sète , the National School of Chaillot in Paris, and New York University.
