Free Previews of Simple People 5/26 and 5/27; Opens 5/28!

Imago's Artistic Co-Director Carol Triffle began writing and creating theatre in the late 70's. However, in 2006 she began to write in a different voice. Combining the dry, almost anti-theatre style of Richard Maxwell with the clown theatre of Jacques Lecoq, Triffle wrote the three plays Hit Me in the Stomach, Mix Up and The Dinner from 2006 to 2008. Simple People, her latest work in this genre, finds the vulnerable yet resilient heroine Amy homeless after being laid off from Lehman Brothers. Amy wanders into a soup kitchen where she discovers a horde of homeless Wall Street executives.

Simple People will play at Imago Theatre, 17 SE 8th, from May 28 to June 13 for nine performances only, on Thursdays at 7:30, Fridays & Saturdays at 8 PM. Tickets are $15 and are available directly from Imago by phone at 503-231-9581, through TicketsWest at 503-224-8499 or at www.ticketswest.com, or at the door starting one hour before showtime.

This show is recommended for age 16+ due to language and adult content.

To attend a preview performance, just arrive at Imago Theatre, 17 SE 8th Avenue, between 7 and 7:15pm Tuesday 5/26 and Wednesday May 5/27. No late seating will be allowed.
