In times like these laughter is not a luxury. It is a lifeline. Peter Lundquist’s Nervous Laughter reminds you of that as an invitation to exhale and laugh even when life feels heavy.

In this smart, quirky, off kilter, and at times dark comedy, Peter Lundquist will take you on a heartfelt journey through anxiety and depression from his early years to college and into the unpredictable world of working in entertainment in Los Angeles. With honesty, generosity, and a sharp comedic eye, he finds humor and kindness in moments that might otherwise feel overwhelming.

Peter’s performance is raw, vulnerable, and deeply human. It is funny, moving, and quietly poetic, striking a balance that will feel familiar to anyone who has wrestled with their own inner noise. Nervous Laughter reminds us that we are not alone, and that kindness, connection, and laughter can be profoundly healing.

Director Brooke Totman brings her character driven sensibility, softness, and impeccable timing to shape a production that flows with ease and intention, keeping the audience engaged every step of the way.

Staged at 21ten Theatre, the intimate setting is perfect for this one-man show. The minimal design keeps the focus on story and performance, while Benny Burnett’s inventive props add moments of surprise and delight.

Nervous Laughter continues Fridays and Saturdays through January 24th at 21ten Theatre. As an added reason to attend, 15 percent of ticket sales benefit Raíces de Bienestar, a community rooted nonprofit dedicated to advancing mental health and emotional well-being within Latine communities in Oregon and beyond.

Come for the laughs, stay for the performance, and leave a little lighter.
