Carnegie Mellon University to Stage Educational Premiere of POLKADOTS

"Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical" will receive its educational premiere presentation at the Philip Chosky Theater in Carnegie Mellon University's Purnell Center for the Arts, March 14, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Conceived by composer and lyricist Douglas Lyons, "Polkadots" was inspired by the 1957 events of the 'Little Rock Nine' in Arkansas and serves as a colorful musical history lesson for children, reminding them that our individual differences make us awesome, not outcasts.

Though still suppressing any telltale clues to its upcoming season, PICT Classic Theatre is pleased to announce the world-premiere of TWO TALES OF TERROR by Edgar Allan Poe, adapted by PICT's Artistic & Executive Director, Alan Stanford. The production will run May 5 through 20 at the Henry Heymann Theatre, and it will feature two short stories by Poe-The Tell-tale Heart and The Fall of the House of Usher.

There was a National Tour of CABARET, and there was a theatre called the Benedum Center in a city called Pittsburgh. In this Roundabout Theatre Company production, resembling the 2014 Broadway revival starring Alan Cumming and Michelle Williams, the stage is metaphorically and literally a frame story, bordered and illuminated by lights with a superposed picture frame hung in the center. But this picture frame, seemingly beautiful along the boarders, hangs crooked to perfectly accent the actors' and show's message.
