The Summer Company will be performing its second show of the 2013 season, A Slight Case of Murder, directed by Jill Jeffrey. This 1935 comedy, written by Damon Runyan and Howard Lindsay and adapted into a film starring Edward G. Robinson, concerns an ex-bootlegger who finds himself in the middle of a gangland murder case as the hilarious complications pile up.

The show runs today, July 11-13 and July 18-20. Ticket prices are $15 for general admission and $10 for students and senior citizens. Group rates are also available.

All shows will be performed at the Peter Mills Theater in Rockwell Hall at Duquesne University and begin at 8:00 p.m. For more information and for ticket reservations, call 412-243-6464. Reservations can be made through the Gemini Theater Company box office.

Steve Fatla, Jay Keenan and John E. Lane, Jr. created The Summer Company in 1993 as a creative summertime outlet. Fatla is head of the Carlow University Theatre Group, while Keenan and Lane were producer and technical director of the Duquesne University Red Masquers. A production team of Tim Colbert, Kim Zelonis, David Curren, Chris Rudolph and Cathy Evans (now Rudolph) was assembled in 1997. Some producers have left to pursue their careers in other avenues or cities, and new producers have joined the company. The constant is the mission of the company "to produce quality productions of classical and soon to be classic plays in the company of friends concentrating on plays written between 1850 through 1950." The current producers are John E. Lane, Jr., Rebecca J. Stevens, Jill Jeffrey, W. Mark Snyder, Sarah Murtha, Heather Clark, Dale Hess, and Justin Sines. All productions have taken place at either Duquesne University, Carlow University, or the Gemini Theater.
