Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's Pointe in Time Gala Returns Annual Gala to Raise Funds

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's (PBT) largest event of the year returns to The Westin on Sat., Nov. 12. Pointe in Time | Love Never Dies, will be an elegant evening of dining, dancing and performances by company artists and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School students.

The evening fundraises for the organization's Community Youth Scholarship program, now in its 10th year. The program has supported 68 scholarship students to date based on talent, passion and financial need. In addition to covering the cost of tuition, PBT commits to supporting scholarship students through their journey from pre-ballet to pre-professional with mentorship, uniforms and shoes.

Who: Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Chairs Diana Misetic and Chuck Snyder, who are also premier sponsors along with Vivian and Bill Benter, Patsy and Don McKinney, Mark F. and Mary McKinney Flaherty, MetroTech Automotive, Northwestern Mutual, PNC Bank, UPMC, and UPMC Health Plan.

Highlights include an exclusive company performance will feature a brand-new "Dracula" themed work choreographed by PBT Soloist Jessica McCann, as well as excerpts from the rest of the season's productions, including "The Sleeping Beauty."

The evening will feature musical accompaniment provided by musicians of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Orchestra.

The event will include performances by PBT School students and a special appeal for PBT's Community Youth Scholarship Program with a $50,000 matching grant from the Jack Buncher Foundation and a $25,000 matching grant for new donors from the Adams Foundation.

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre has been Pittsburgh's premier professional ballet company since 1969. Today, PBT is a nationally recognized ballet company of 35 professional dancers, a training institution for over 1,200 students of all ages, and an incubator for education and accessibility programs in classrooms, libraries and community centers throughout the region. The company performs a wide-ranging repertoire of classical ballets, contemporary masterworks and new commissions in more than 50 performances annually at home and on tour.
