CD Live!, The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Three Rivers Arts Festival and WYEP 91.3FM present Emmylou Harris in concert at the Byham Theater on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at 8:00 p.m. One of the most loved and respected recording artists in America, Emmylou Harris has been lauded as a genre-transcending artist, a song connoisseur and a gifted singular performer. She has the unique ability to remain relevant as music evolves, and her sound constantly evolves with it, transforming from subtle country styling to lush folk music to bluegrass inspired wanderings. Tickets ($45.75) are available at The Box Office at Theater Square (655 Penn Avenue), by phone 412-456-6666, and online at pgharts.org.

Emmylou Harris built a career on her solo endeavors, but is also known for her collaborations with a wide range of artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews, Elvis Costello, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Bright Eyes, Neil Young, Roy Orbison, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, and Mark Knopfler, Trish Yearwood, Lucinda Williams and Graham Parsons among others. Harris's songbird voice has also been sought for backing vocals from musicians as diverse as indie rocker Conor Oberst to folk rock pioneer Bob Dylan.

Harris began her career in the 1970s as a country music artist working with singer/songwriter Gram Parsons. Parsons helped shape her countrified music career to come. Following his death Harris continued on to form several musical groups, including the Hot Band, and eventually launched a Grammy-award winning solo career.

To date her discography has more albums than years she's been performing. Her achievements include winning a Golden Globe for Best Original Song, "A Love that Will Never Grow Old" (Brokeback Mountain); ten Grammy Awards including 2005's Best Female Country Vocal Performance; over 15 Million records sold with 24 solo records beginning in 1969 through 2008's All I Intended to Be;seven number one country singles, 19 Top Ten Country Singles and 14 Top Ten Country Albums including two Number One records.
