Biutiful Held Over At The Civic Theatre Thru 2/24

Due to popular demand, Civic Theatre of Allentown will continue showing the Academy Award nominated film "Biutiful." The film will continue screening Civic's Theatre514 until Thursday, February 24. "Biutiful" has been nominated for Best Actor (Javier Bardem) and Best Foreign Language Film for the 2011 Academy Awards.

Javier Bardem won the Best Actor Prize at Cannes 2010 for his performance in "Biutiful."

Synopsis: Uxbal (Javier Bardem) is a conflicted man who struggles to reconcile fatherhood, guilt and mortality amidst the Barcelona underworld. His livelihood is earned out of bounds, his sacrifices for his children knows no bounds.

As fate encircles Uxbal and thresholds are crossed, a dim, redemptive road brightens, illuminating the inheritances bestowed from father to child, and the paternal guiding hand that navigates life's corridors, whether bright, bad or biutiful.

Betsey Sharkey of the Los Angeles Times raves that "Biutiful" is, "Unquestionably one of the year's best." Peter Travers of Rolling Stone praises Bardem in saying, "It would be impossible to list the Oscar-worthy performances of 2010 without highlighting Javier Bardem in 'Biutiful'."
